From metabolic tracking to sleep analytics, our homes are increasingly embracing science and technology to benefit our wellbeing. Sonocea, a groundbreaking combination of music & science from Dr Stephen Porges & Anthony Gorry, delivers patented sonic augmentation technology that provides an unparalleled impact on body and mind.
Originally called 'Polyvagal Music', this technology represents perhaps the most accessible opportunity yet to scientifically enhance our lives at home but with its brand in infancy and struggling for standout, the brand came to Manifest for help.

The Challenge

Develop a new name, strategy and visual identity for ‘Polyvagal Music’ – a breakthrough sound augmentation technology in the wellness space.

The name Sonocea is a fusion of science and sensory — a portmanteau of “sonic” and “panacea” — evoking both the healing power of sound and the technological innovation behind it.

Designed for a brand developed by Dr. Stephen Porges and audio innovator Anthony Gorry, it needed to carry medical credibility, global protectability, and melodic phonoaesthetics.

The brand's new platform ‘Life. Amplified.’ courses through every touchpoint of the brand identity from logo lock-up to photography treatments to create a brand that truly resonates.

Sonocea represents a new opportunity to amplify wellbeing. Inspired by science, the Sonocea brand is shaped by its application and those benefitting from its broad spectrum of possibilities. As such, the product is not sound, it’s the effect it has on lives.
The brand's Unifying Significant Proposition (USP) ‘Life. Amplified.’ is at the very heart of this, working as both a mantra for our design decisions as well as a flexible and dynamic messaging mechanic.

Amplification is at the core of the Sonocea visual identity and informs various touchpoints of the design system, including the brand’s dynamic “S” monogram.

The primary colour palette relates to the duality of music and science that is at the brand’s core, punctuated by a bright secondary palette inspired by the colours found in a medical scan.

Hero photography is treated with an amplified resonant effect to create striking branded imagery. These are complemented with a series of sound blends that are used when lifestyle photography can’t.

The result is a brand that can unlock the potential of sound to enhance and improve lives all over the world.
