Native Shoes x Crayola

Uniting Native Shoes and Crayola to show how creativity can spark change in the world

We teamed up with Brooklyn-based artist, designer and educator, Mason Eve, to create a series of huge murals that used the power of a paintbrush to bring to life visions of how the world could be changed for the better. Working alongside kids, families and couples, Mason’s humongous pieces of art covered topics such as recycling, equality and nature.
The creative process came to life in a series of short videos and stills that told the story of #WhatIfWeCreated and urged others to get involved. This content would go on to be the lead creative used across owned channels, within retailer partners’ stores.

The Challenge

Native Shoes are sustainably minded and committed to instigating small actions to make a big difference. Crayola is all about creativity. The challenge was to pinpoint the intersection of these two brands and show why they were the perfect partners.

We took a new shoe collaboration and turned it into an inspiration content suite designed to spark inspiration and show how creativity can change the world for the better.

2020 was a trying year for all – one filled with loss and sadness and frustration and friction. But it was also a year in which there was a new willingness to make the world a better place for today and for future generations. This became the jump-off point for #WhatIfWeCreated – a series of uplifting videos that aimed to show anyone can have world-changing ideas.

Our Approach

Working with muralist, Mason Eve, we created huge murals depicting world-changing ideas from kids, families and couples. The resulting content became a rallying call to arms that was amplified by influencers and called for young people to share their big ideas for a better world in a nationwide contest.

Hundreds of kids from across the U.S. and Canada shared ideas on how they’d make the world better, with ideas spanning everything from recycling and space travel, the park restoration, and protection of animals. The winning entrant not only had their big idea turned into an original piece of artwork by Mason Eve, but also had a donation made to an organization that focused on their area of change.

The Results

The Manifest campaign lived across Native Shoes and Crayola’s owned and social channels – encouraging participation in the campaign, as well as sales of the new shoe collaboration.
