A Manifest Brand Strategist is responsible for strategic thinking at Brand level, bridging the gap between insights and creative ideation with channel-agnostic strategies framed around a positive impact on the world.

A Brand Strategist’s brief:

You’re here to develop unified brand communication strategies that address client business goals and establish a platform for brand growth and creative communications campaigns. A Manifest Brand Strategist plays a lead role in our brand services, turning insights into recommendations and brand frameworks. They also provide strategic direction for creative campaigns, building insight-led strategic platforms and working with conceptual creatives to establish campaigns that will have a positive impact on the world and meet the business objectives of the brief.

Your job is to inspire the entire Manifest team to push the bar strategically and creatively, turning insights into award-winning, significant brands and campaigns, which in turn deliver measurable impact and long-term business value for clients.

While continuously looking for future opportunities, you should always keep your eye on the clients in the building, ensuring the agency is maintaining strategic integrity in the work it produces at all levels and in all disciplines.

What is expected of a Brand Strategist:

You will help to build brands from scratch, working within our brand services team to deliver brand playbooks, strategic counsel and other consultancy. You will also guide and develop client marketing communications by providing strategic solutions to business objectives that provide a platform for the creative development process, working with creative execution teams to maintain strategic direction at every stage.

You are focused on providing compelling proposals and writing detailed insight-driven recommendations for new and existing clients, as well as continuously looking for opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell agency value through strategic services. You understand all of Manifest’s products and services and are able to package them up in the best way to achieve clients’ business objectives.

You are expected to brief our insights team thoroughly, before analysing and defining their results to drive better creative solutions and help us make a difference to our clients’ businesses and in turn their audience’s lives. You are responsible for identifying trends, defining the customers, and identifying areas of resonance for our clients that will help achieve their strategic brand and business ambitions.

You need to have an appetite for all strategic elements of brand communications including brand positioning, corporate messaging, creative content and paid, earned, social and owned media programming. You will champion the strategic process at all levels and inspire the team to deliver consistently high quality, purpose-driven work. You will never stop learning, and will bring fresh thinking to our work.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support Manifest’s mission of helping brands change the world for the better by creating meaningful brand strategies that deliver impact for clients
  • Develop comprehensive brand frameworks as part of or brand creation and rebrand services, including Manifest’s proprietary brand exercises such as the Brand Compass®
  • Develop positioning recommendations for brands, guide market research analysis, define brand elements, craft brand architectures, identify key pillars, tone of voice, personality, brand purpose, mission and manifesto.
  • Work across the agency’s client portfolio developing unified, channel-agnostic strategies and platforms that can be activated across owned, earned, shared and paid channels
  • Be accountable for the strategic ‘element’ of projects and campaigns you are assigned, working seamlessly with those responsible for insights, conceptual creative, creative production, client service and project management elements.
  • Oversee the execution of campaigns and activities to ensure implementation of the strategy is consistent, evident and effective across all channels
  • Work with client partnership and growth teams to grow existing clients through multi-channel consulting and overall branding advice
  • Be involved in new business pitches to ensure strategic relevance, quality and multi-channel approach
  • Work closely with the senior team to understand client business goals and ensure quality/relevance of project briefs
  • Work closely with Insights Manager to ensure strategy, concept and activity development are always based on relevant audience insights and market trends
  • Ensure development and implementation of business-relevant and measurable objectives (KPIs)
  • Actively contribute to the positioning of Manifest as a unified creative agency
  • Contribute to the agency’s understanding of the ever-changing communications landscape through consumer insight generation and application
  • Work with the wider team to ensure they are literate in brand strategy and integrated strategic approaches
  • Monitor and interpret cultural and social trends relevant to Manifest and client businesses
